Peggy J. Stieglitz, 68, of Bunker Hill, passed away at 4:50 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, 2015, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born May 28, 1947, in Alton, the daughter of Kenneth and Elizabeth (Lamar) Sullivan.
She married Robert “Bob” W. Stieglitz on Oct. 28, 1967, at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. He survives.
Peggy was a pharmacy tech at the Bunker Hill Pharmacy, she then went to work as a dental assistant at the Bunker Hill Dental office for more than 10 years. She attended Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. She was a coach for the Bunker Hill Khoury League, coaching her daughter’s team. She enjoyed being MeMaw to her three grandchildren, spending time outdoors, trips to Florida and her dog “Sheba.”
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Byron Overton of Bethalto; a son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Nicole Stieglitz of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; three grandchildren, Gage, Jessica and Samantha; her siblings and their spouses, Janice and Gary Kessler of Bethalto, Cheryl and Larry Daniels of Bethalto and her twin sister, Mary Scott of East Alton; her mother-in-law, Florence Stieglitz of Bethalto and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Cody Overton; a sister, Betty Kelly; and her father-in-law, Wilfred Stieglitz.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto with Pastor Mark Hofferber officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran School or St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
