Peggy Louise Wycoff, 77, of Collinsville, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at Willow Creek Nursing Home in Belleville.
She was born on July 6, 1937, in Olney, a daughter to the late Howard and Margaret (Hughes) Utz.
On Aug. 31, 1957, Peggy Utz married Russell Leroy Wycoff, the love of her life, at Assembly of God Church in North Venice.
Peggy was a pastor’s wife of Assembly of God Church’s for 50 years.
For 18 years, Peggy and the Rev. Russell lived in West Frankfort, Ill., while he was pastor at New Beginnings Assembly of God Church. She attended Gateway Family Church in Glen Carbon and made many wonderful friends. Peggy enjoyed crocheting blankets and other items for her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends and attending church. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband, the Rev. Russell Wycoff Sr. of Collinsville; dear children, Rebecca Wycoff of Pontoon Beach, Russell Wycoff Jr. of Seattle, Wash., Robert Wycoff of Riverside, Calif., Ronald Wycoff of Pontoon Beach, and Jennifer Shackleford of Farmington, Mo.; loving grandmother to Jonathan (Angela) Wycoff, David (Tiffany) Wycoff, Olivia (Travis Lansaw) Wycoff, Daniel (Myranda) Gravitt, Flavio (Yara) Wycoff, Rudy Blanco, Kelsee Wycoff, Macee Proctor, Christopher Proctor and Judy Furlong; and 13 great-grandchildren, plus twin girls on the way; one brother, Rev. John (Carol) Utz of Roy, Utah; two sisters, Patty (Errol) Hillborn of Thorton, Colo., and Margie Utz of St. Louis; extended family and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road, Glen Carbon.
In celebration of her life, funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, at Irwin Chapel, Glen Carbon, with Pastor Sandy Schoeber officiating. Internment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon.
