Ramona Linda Rodriguez, 64, of Granite City passed away Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at VIP Manor in Wood River with her family by her side.
She was born Sept. 11, 1950, in Granite City, the daughter to Raymond and Frances (nee Sanchez) Vasques.
Ramona worked for many years as a Union Machinist with Aerospace and Dynamics until her retirement. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Hilario Rodriguez, of Granite City; two daughters, Maria Garcia of St. Louis and Linda Soria of Granite City; two sons, Johnny (Cynthia) Pastoriza of Granite City and Joe (Jennifer) Pastoriza of Granite City; 17 grandchildren, Yolanda, Gloria, Sonia, Sonia, Alberto, Anastacio, Elysia, Jon, Kirsten, Amilcar, Jared, Jesse, Ciera, Johnny Jr., Angelina, Damian and Madelyn; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Pedro “Pete” Vasques of Granite City; and sisters, Elena Bodi of Granite City and Manuela “Lydia’’ Slayton of Fairmont City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Gloria Vasques; and half-brother, Richard Ramos.
The family will have a memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2606 Washington Ave., Granite City.
