Randall A. Klaffer, 70, of Shipman, died at 4:24 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.
He was born May 24, 1944, in Eldorado, the son to the late Minnie (Dodd) Klaffer Emmons and George Joseph Klaffer.
On May 11, 1966, he and Glenda Arlana Cline were married in Eldorado. She preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 2011. Randall retired from Olin Corp. as an adjuster after 35 years of service. He was an avid Cardinals fan and loved fishing and “oldies” music.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Karen Klaffer of Rock Bridge; three daughters and sons-in-law, Thana and Bruce Dunn, Dana and Jim Burris and Kimberly and Aaron Hickerson of Wood River; six grandchildren, Ethan, Ty, Raiden, Parker, Janan and Melaina; a sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Jim Rhoades of Sparta; and two sisters-in-law, Pat Klaffer of Mendota and Brenda and John Akers of New Castle, Ind.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Klaffer.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon Monday, Oct. 13, 2014 at Paynic Home for Funerals. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
