Raymond Darrell Rhodes, 82, of Wood River, died at 11:38 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015.
Born in Wood River on Jan. 16, 1933, he was the son of Rolland and Delores (Harold) Rhodes.
A U.S. Army veteran, he had been a welder at Jefferson-Smurfit before retiring.
On Feb. 9, 1952, in Pocahontas, Ark., he married the former Roberta J. Scott. She survives.
Surviving also are a son, Randal R. (Lana) Rhodes of Godfrey; two daughters, Ronica (Alan) Orf of St. Charles, Mo., and Ranette (Steve) Visagie of Cincinnati, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Raymond F. Rhodes, Dustin Orf, Tammy Wittman, Robert Skiff Jr., Tyler, and Piper and Paige Visagie; four great-grandchildren, Ronica Rhodes, Tony Orf, and Kayla and Kelsy Wittman; and a brother, James Rhodes of Alton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jerred Orf; and a brother, Rolland “Sonny” Rhodes.
