Raymond L. Lindner, 78, of Granite City, passed away at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, at Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville.
He was born Jan. 28, 1936, in Granite City, the son of the late Earl and Geneva (Pettifurd) Lindner.
He retired as a foreman with American Water Co. and proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He enjoyed his days of fishing and hunting and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by a sister, Wilma Manoogian of Granite City; aunt, Imogene Patton of Granite City; cousins, Greg and Janis Patton of Granite City, Paula and Ed Hagnauer of Granite City and Kathy Fuhrman of Creve Coeur, Mo.; numerous other cousins; extended family and friends.
In celebration of his life, a graveside service will be held at St. John Cemetery on Nameoki Road in Granite City on Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Henry Crippen officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation and may be accepted at the funeral home.
