Reinhold “Ron” W. Borgmann, 78, of Edwardsville, passed away at 9:37 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, at Christian Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born May 1, 1937, in St. Louis, the son of the late Reinhold and Blanche E. (Linstromberg) Borgmann.
He is survived by Joan M. (Vahrenhorst), whom he married Aug. 23, 1958, at Zion Lutheran Church in St. Louis. They were planning to celebrate 57 years of marriage.
Ron served his country in the U.S. Air Force Reserves, stationed in France during the Korean Conflict. He served as a Vice President at Missouri Savings and Loan, where he worked for 28 years. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Chapel in St. Louis, where he ushered for more than 50 years. He was most recently a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Prairietown. Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Jerry Scheumann of Prairietown; two sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Renee Borgmann of St. Charles, Mo., and Jim and Sheryl Borgmann of St. Louis; 12 grandchildren, Andy, Jamie, Casey, Taylor, Dan, Jessie, Kara, Jodie, Mark, Faith, Luke and Brooke; and one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Diane Borgmann of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at the Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Prairietown, with Pastor Nathan Ruback officiating.
Burial will be at St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery in Prairietown, with military honors.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Grace Chapel Lutheran Church or Lutheran High School North.
