Richard “Rick” Joyce, 61, of Lake Mary, Fla., passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Orlando Hospital in Florida. He had an eight-year battle with kidney disease.
He was born in Alton on Nov. 19, 1953, the son of Lester and Beverly (Meisenheimer) Joyce.
On July 27, 1974, he married Nela Estrada of Ecuador.
He was an Auto Technician for BMW and Acura. He loved spending time with family, working on cars, watching movies and listening to music of all kinds.
He is survived by his mother and wife; two sons, Rick Joyce of Clermont, Fla., and Randy (Rachel) Joyce of Crestview, Fla.; four grandchildren, Kaden, Collin, Evey and Lucas Joyce; one brother, Roger (Linda) Joyce of Godfrey; two sisters, Linda Ventimiglia of Alton and Vickie (Dan) Murphy of Godfrey; two nieces, Jennifer (Chris) Link of Godfrey and Leslie Murphy of O’Fallon, Mo.; three nephews, Adam Joyce of Alton, Aaron (Ellen) Joyce of Alton and Clinton Murphy of O’Fallon; and close family and friends in Florida.
He was preceded in death by his father and infant sister, Rose Mary Joyce.
In celebration of his life, visitation and services were held at Northland Church in Florida.
