Richard C. Huber, 78, of Alton, passed away at 2:25 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at Christian Northeast Hospital in St. Louis with his family by his side.
He was born on July 26, 1936, in Alton, the son to the late Clarence and Lorraine (Suhlentrump) Huber.
He married Sondra Krotz on June 13, 1981, in Alton. She survives.
Richard was employed at Laclede Steel Manufacturing in Alton for more than 42 years as an electrician. He was an original member of the Grandpa Gang. Richard loved to golf, but his greatest joy was his family; they came first above all.
Richard is survived by his wife and five daughters and their spouses, Mary Ann and Tom Otley of O’Fallon, Mo., Suzanne and John Koechner of Marion, Nancy Hampton of Godfrey, Cathy and Jimmie Johnson of Godfrey, and Lisa and Shane Utley of E. Peoria; two sons, Matthew Huber of Alton and John and his spouse, Jodie Huber of Middletown, N.J.; 17 grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie Stemm of Godfrey; and one brother and his spouse, Dave and Vera Huber of Summerfield, Fla.; and one brother-in-law, Charlie Ducey of Hardin and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary in infancy and Sue Ducey,; and two brothers, Jerry in infancy and William Huber.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. till time of service at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
