Richard W. Lybarger, 62, of Edwardsville, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born Dec. 18, 1953, in East St. Louis, the son of William O. and Mary C. (Stallings) Lybarger.
He married Debra A. Crum (Stevens) on Dec. 21, 1994, in Godfrey.
Richard was an electrician for Shell Oil Company for 33 years, until retiring in 2009. He enjoyed spending his time watching NASCAR, tinkering and working on sports cars and muscle cars, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife; his mother, Mary, of Florida; a son, Christopher Lybarger of St. Louis; a stepson, David Stevens of Hamilton, Ohio; and a stepdaughter, Lena Stevens of Alton; five grandchildren, Maria, Eliana, Tyler, Jeffrey and Delilah; a sister, Roxanne Koutsoulieris of Florida; three nieces and two nephews and multiple great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents and an aunt.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2016, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the funeral home.
