Robert L. Bohart, 88, of Godfrey, died at 6 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born Feb. 11, 1926, in Alton, the son of the late Charles and Marie (Ebbler) Bohart.
On April 3, 1948, he married Charline Elaine (Price) and she preceded him in death on May 26, 2013.
Robert was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a 41-year member of the Labor Local 338 in Wood River, and in 1987 he helped his son start Bo’s Hardware in downtown Alton and retired in 1992.
He is survived by one daughter, Deborah Altom of Alton; one son, Mark “Bo” Bohart (Mary) of Alton; and two sisters, Betty Todd of Wood River and Helen Lazar of Fieldon; three grandchildren, Casey Hamberg (Mike), Montana Bohart, Luke Bohart; and five great-grandchildren; Alex, Carley, Elaine and Nathan Hamberg, and Owen Robert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; a brother, Elmer Bohart; and three sisters, Mildred, Hazel and Pat.
