Roland “Ron” Dean Lee, 80, of Godfrey, passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, at Jerseyville Manor.
He was born Jan. 30, 1936, in Alton, the son the son of Novis Chester and Mildred (Wilson) Lee. Ron married Jo Hurley on April 15, 1955, in Alton, and she survives.
Ron owned and operated Ron and Bob’s Auto Repair in Godfrey for many years. He was very proud of the young men he mentored at his business through the years, “Ron and Bob’s Crew.” Spending time with his family was the highlight of his life.
In addition to his wife, Jo, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, R. Dwayne Lee of Godfrey, and D. Kent and Ruth Lee of Grafton; three granddaughters, Katy Lee of Alton, Kim and Travis Widman of Godfrey, and Kari Lee of Grafton; a sister, Paula Rodgers of Nebraska; a brother, Charles and Laura Rodgers of Kane; a sister-in-law, Ruby Lee of Grafton; five great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Greyson, Eli, Mason and Abbi; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dale Lee.
Visitation will be 2:30 p.m. until the time of service at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey with the Rev. William Veith officiating.
A private family burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Research Foundation.
