Rona Genice White, 40, of O’Fallon, passed away on Jan. 27, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on July 12, 1975 in St. Charles, Mo., the daughter of Ronnie and Vivian (Ball) White.
Rona was a member of River of Life Community Church in Granite City. She gave countless hours volunteering her time at River of Life School and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Charter High School. Rona worked at Kaplan University as an Admissions Specialist and in her free time she enjoyed cooking, traveling and swimming. But most of all she loved her children and her family and enjoyed spending many happy times together. Rona will be remembered for her free spirit and her giving heart.
She is survived by and will be missed by her dad, Ronnie White of St. Louis; her daughter, Cortnee Shannon of Chicago; her son, Moises Barboza of O’Fallon; her brother, Craig G. White of St. Peters, Mo.; her sisters, Tina Richardson of Olathe, Kan., Gina Washington of O’Fallon, Tonya White of Florissant, Mo.; and many other extended family members and friends.
Rona was preceded in death by her mom, Vivian (Ball) White.
In celebration of her life, friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at noon Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at River of Life Community Church, 3131 E. 23rd St. in Granite City with Pastor Travis Watkins officiating. Memorial donations may be payable to River of Life Community Church for Rona’s children, Cortnee and Moises. Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, is serving the family.
