Ronald “Slick” Ray Scholebo, 68, of Granite City, died at 8:25 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born July 12,1946, in Sparta, the son to the late Frances (Cowell) Moehle and Otis C. Scholebo Sr.
On Oct. 29, 1966, he and Kathleen G. Hall were married in Granite City. She survives in Granite City.
Slick was a General Machinist at McDonnell Douglas for 32 1/2 years, retiring In 1999. He was a Volunteer Firefighter and District Trustee with Mitchell Fire Department for 20-plus years. He was an avid motorcyclist, riding his Honda Goldwing Trike as an active member of the Patriot Guard Rider.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Rhonda (Gordon) Failoni of Columbia, S.C.; son, Jeffrey (Johnna Presley) Scholebo of Granite City; five grandchildren, Hannah (Alex) Smith, Sarah, Catherine and Matthew Failoni and Courtney Dockery; a great-grandson, Judson Smith; a brother, Donald (Elaine) Scholebo of Union, Mo.; half brother, Otis C. (Lydia) Scholebo Jr. of Pinebluff, Ark.; a sister, Diane Hill of Collinsville; and his beloved dog, Gracie.
The family will hold a memorial service at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Heritage Church, 3716 Ruth, Pontoon Beach (formerly Cedar View), where he was a member.
