Ronald Lee Clavin, 73, of Granite City, passed away at 12:22 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at his home.
He was born April 3, 1943, in St. Louis, the son to the late Leo and Irene (McDonald) Clavin.
On Aug. 17, 1963, he and Mary L. Bush were married in St. Louis. She survives in Granite City.
Ronald retired as an Electrician in 2010 from U.S. Steel after 43 1/2 years of service. He was an avid St. Louis Cards and Blues fan and loved fishing, dancing and all dogs. He was a member of the Granite City Eagles and the NRA.
In addition to his wife of almost 53 years, he is survived by a daughter, Jody L. Sawyer of Granite City; a grandson, Ronald D. Sawyer of Granite City; a sister, Brenda Mitchell of Granite City; and two sisters-in-law, Nina Foreman of Granite City and Sandy Wilkinson of New Douglas.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Edythe Steward.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory, where services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2016, with Pastor Charles West officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
