Ronald Lee Kelley, 57, of Wood River, passed away at 9:56 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Born June 25, 1958, in Alton, he was a son of Willus and Mary (Darnell) Kelley.
A union painter for 41 years, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing and working side by side with his son.
Survivors include three daughters, Tiffiny (Blake) Gray of Cottage Hills, Candice (Troy) Gasaway and Veronica (Chad) Wilson, all of Vandalia; a son, David Kelley (Alyssa Hardester) of Wood River; three stepdaughters, Mindy Cox and Jamie Breden, both of Jerseyville; and Christie Crosno of East Alton; 16 grandchildren; a sister, Carol (Mike) Trosley of Palmyra; and two brothers, David Kelley of Nasita, Wis., and Joe (Vicky) Kelley of Alton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Howard Kelley.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Catherine Thompson for her life-saving efforts, which allowed Ronald’s kids to have one last “goodbye” with their dad.
Memorial visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 7, at Paynic Home for Funerals from noon until memorial services begin at 2 p.m.
