Rondel “Ron” J. Baysden, 80, of Wood River, passed away at 2:45 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2015, at St. Anthony’s Health Center in Alton.
He was born on Aug. 3, 1934, in Pomona, the son of the late Rollie T. and Ruby M. (Fleming) Baysden.
Ron served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a roller at Laclede Steel for 35 years until his retirement in 1994.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Dawn Baysden of Brighton and Steven Baysden of East Alton; a daughter-in-law, Kelly Baysden of Alhambra; a granddaughter, Casey Baysden of Wood River; and two great-granddaughters, Cameryn and Peyton Adams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters and spouses, JoAnne and Bob Imboden, and Marie Schireswitz.
Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Edwardsville; the Rev. Charles West will be officiating.
