Ronny Ellis Rawlings, 65, of Alton, passed away at 7:20 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2016, at his residence.
Born June 5, 1950, at his home in Rurac, Mo., he was the son of Charles “Gabe” and Virginia (Henry) Rawlings.
Ronny served his country in the U.S. Army Infantry in Vietnam. Ronny was a laborer for the railroad and had worked as a machinist for the Olin Corporation before retiring.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald Rawlings of Godfrey and Randy Rawlings of Brighton; grandchildren, Miranda Rawlings, Marissa Cook, Brittany Rawlings, Mallory Rawlings, Leila Rawlings, Gabe Rawlings, Jenner Rawlings and Ellis Rawlings; and nieces and nephews, Rhonda Rawlings, Bryan Rawlings, Shawn Rawlings and Rachel Rawlings.
Preceding in death were his parents; a sister, Sandy Rawlings; and a brother, Charles “Bay Boy” Rawlings.
Visitation to celebrate his life will be from 3 p.m. until time of service at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Private burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
