Rudolph “Rudy” G. Biros, 92, passed away at 2:03 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015, at his home.
He was born Feb. 1, 1923, in Streator, the son of George and Mary (Verchimak) Biros.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine F. (Tedford). They were married on Aug. 17, 1946, in Streator.
Rudy served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard on the William Mitchell during World War II. He was a machinist for 32 years at Shell Oil Company, retiring in 1985. He loved his church and served as an usher at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto. He was a great handyman, always working on something. Most importantly, he was passionate about his family; they were his pride and joy.
In addition to his wife of 68 years, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Joseph Cecchini of Cottage Hills and Michelle and Tim Mank of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren and their spouses, Angelique Shannon, Rudy and Ivy Cecchini, Lindsay and David Patterson and Tim and Katie Mank II; four great-grandchildren, Alivia and Gia Cecchini and Jack and Hailey Patterson, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; a twin infant brother, Adolph, George, Daniel and Edward; and a sister, Evelyn.
A Mass will be held at 10 am. Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto with Monsignor Virgil Mank presiding and Father Tom Liebler as concelebrant.
