Samuel F. Krpan, 82, of Granite City, passed away on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, in St. Cloud, Fla.
He was born on May 22, 1932, a son to the late Sam and Anna (Buncich) Krpan.
Samuel was a longtime dock hand at Pacific International Express Trucking Company in St. Louis and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Samuel loved to travel to Florida every winter and enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved to watch baseball and was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan. He will be remembered for his kind heart and the many special times he shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by and will be missed by his daughters, Heather and (Ron) Barrios of Granite City and Tammie Hoffman of Edwardsville; grandchildren, Samantha and (Nate) Logan, Kellie Hoffman, Tim Barrios, Emily Barrios, R.J. and (Brittany) Barrios, and Anthony Barrios; great-grandchildren, Sienna Logan, Jackson Logan, Kayden Barrios and Karter Barrios; sister, Francie and (Charles) Shea; several nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marian Marie (Dew) Krpan, whom he married on June 29, 1959.
In celebration of Samuel’s life, friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, with a service being held at 7 p.m. with Pastor Clint Wisdom officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
