Samuel Paul Drenovac, 91, of Granite City, passed away at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
He was born Oct. 26, 1923, in Hartford, a son of the late Martin and Ethel (Swartz) Drenovac. Samuel was a farmer throughout his life and ran the Twin Oaks Restaurant along with his parents. He was a member of the Wood River Masonic Lodge and proudly served his country with the United States Coast Guard during World War II.
In celebration of his life, a graveside service will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis with full military honors at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Memorials may be made to the Irwin Chapel.
