Shirley May, 59, of Oakville, Mo., and formerly of Granite City, passed away at 12:40 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016, at her home.
She was born Dec. 4, 1956, in Granite City, the daughter of the late Ray Edwin and Alice “Vivian” (Cowley) Young. Shirley had worked in collections and billing for many years. She was a member of The Shirley Club and was an avid traveler and seeing as much of the world as possible. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and many friends.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Charles Dailey of Granite City; three grandsons, Zachary, Cody and Grant Dailey; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald Ray “Jerry” and Mary Young of Laguna Woods, Calif.; special friend, Ron McKee of Oakville, Mo.; other extended family and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Edwin Young Jr.
