Sidney “Sid” Clayton Forister, 73, of Wyaconda, Mo., and formerly of the St. Louis area, passed away at 11:53 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, at his home.
He was born Aug. 8, 1941, in Charleston, Mo., a son of the late Clayton and Maureen (Lehr) Forister.
Sid was a truck driver for many years and had last worked for M.F.A. Agri Service in Memphis, Mo. He enjoyed his days of hunting and fishing and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” (Laskowski) Forister of Wyaconda; daughter and son-in-law, Jodi and Jason Blomme of Granite City; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Sarah Forister of Granite City; stepchildren, Christopher Sulwer, Mary-Ann (John) Pugh, Anthony Sulwer and Amy Sulwer; grandchildren, Jack, Luci, Gwyneth, Blythe, Ashley, Amanda, Nikolas, Chase Clayton and Olivia; a great-granddaughter, Londyn; two brothers and four sisters, Larry, Johnny, Joan, Janet, Sharon and Mary Kay; many nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 4 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City with the Rev. Charles West officiating.
