Sylvia Davis, 79, of Alton, passed away at 2:43 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at Bethalto Care Center.
She was born on Oct. 16, 1935, in Alton, the daughter of the late Hardin and Emma (Osborne) Embry. She married Walter Davis in 1972 in Tuscon, Ariz., and he preceded her in death. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law: Robbin and Darrell Stout of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., Ada and Clifford Keesler of Wood River, Cindi and Danny Sinclair of Barnett, Mo., 18 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and one sister and brother-in-law: Barbara and the Rev. Albert Reams of Washington.
She was formerly employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Alton as an aide in the central supply department.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Darrell; two brothers, and one sister.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Private inurnment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice.
