Teresa Ann Cherry, 43, of Wood River, passed away at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, at Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton.
She was born June 29, 1972, in Alton, the daughter of Charlene (Grant) Cherry of Cottage Hills and Randy Phillips Sr. of Texas.
Teresa loved life. She was an active member of Whitelaw Baptist Church. Teresa loved helping others and had earned degrees or certificates as a Certified Hemodialyes Technician, Basic Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician and Certified Medical Assistant.
When not working, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, camping, fishing, and even under the car or truck, covered in oil.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her stepfather, Kenneth Cherry; grandfather, Lindell Phillips of Bethalto; son, William Kampmann Jr. III of South Roxana; daughter, Victoria Kampmann of Cottage Hills; five grandchildren, Brooke Phillips, Joseph, Andrew and Isaiah Kampmann, and Haylie Holland; two brothers, Randy Phillips Jr. of Oklahoma and Kenneth Cherry Jr. of South Roxana; two sisters, Marcy Vetter of East Alton, Amber Phillips and Elizabeth Hernadez, both of Texas; and dearly loved fiancé, John Gleason.
Preceding in death were grandparents, Elizabeth A. Grant, George L. Grant and Mabel Phillips.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Whitelaw Baptist Church in Wood River. The Rev. Richard Newcom will officiate.
