Thomas Ward Woody, 58, of Brighton, died at 3:17 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, at home.
He was born on Sept. 21, 1956, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of John A. Woody of Topeka, Kan., and the late Mary Elizabeth (Tharp) Woody.
Thomas was an Evangelist since 1979, teaching and preaching to congregations in the United States and overseas for the Church of Christ.
He married LuAnn (Bown) Woody on Sept. 24, 1977, in Pleasant Hill, Iowa, and she survives.
Also surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and Jason Range of Columbia, Abigail and Brian Richwine of Overland Park, Kan., Grace and Keving Morton of Eudora, Kan., Candace and Chad Stutz of Alton and Vertiy Woody of Brighton; son and daughter-in-law, Samuel and Kelsey Woody of Overland Park, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kyra and Steve Pehron of Morgan Hill, Calif., and Kimber and Steve Wright of Topeka, Kan.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry and Vicky Woody of Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Glen and Becky Woody of Gladstone, Mo.; father, John A. Woody of Topeka, Kan.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Al and Marlene Brown of Prole, Iowa; aunt, Betty Lockwood of Broomfield, Colo.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at Ahlemeyer Atrium located at Lewis and Clark Community College, 5800 Godfrey Road, Godfrey, IL 62035, followed by funeral services at 1 p.m. with Evangelists Rick Sparks and Louis Garbi presiding.
Burial will take place in Brighton Cemetery.
