Thresia Gray, 80, of Hartford, passed away Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, at Mercy Hospital; St. Louis.
She was born on March 20, 1935, in Cumberland City, Tenn., a daughter to the late Evan and Eleanor (Brown) Richardson.
On May 15, 1957, Thresia Richardson married Clay B. Gray, the love of her life, in Hernando, Miss. Clay passed away on July 9, 2004. Thresia was a former member of Hartford Assembly of God Church in Hartford and Bethalto Church of God, in Bethalto. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, canning, cooking and embroidery; she was also an avid Cardinal baseball fan. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Thresia loved life, she loved to laugh, but most of all she loved her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents and husband, Thresia was preceded in death by three brothers, the Rev. Thurman Richardson, Ivie Richardson and Learoy Richardson.
Thresia is survived by her loving children, Randy (Karen) Gray of Meadowbrook, Vicki Pruitt of Hartford and Denise Gray of Hartford; proud grandmother to Ashley Pruitt, Matt (Sara) Pruitt, Greg Smay, Amanda Smay, Claydon Cathorall, Adam (Kelly) Lile, Paul Lile and Daniel Gray; proud great-grandmother to Carter Pruitt and Josiah Lile; dear brother, the Rev. John (Minnie) Richardson of Cumberland City, Tenn.; the Zagar family; Rhonda Anderson and family; extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City.
In celebration of her life, funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, at Irwin Chapel with the Rev. Don Arnold officiating. Thresia will be laid to rest next to Clay in Wanda Cemetery, South Roxana.
