TJ Fowler, 24, of Godfrey, passed peacefully and unexpectedly Friday, Dec. 5, 2014.
TJ was employed at Scott Air Force Base as a Computer Systems Administrator and was soon to graduate with his Bachelor’s Degree and a promising career. TJ was to wed to his fiancée, Angela Garrett, in 2015.
He was born Oct. 7, 1990, in Alton, the son of Tina Jeanette Fowler.
TJ was an avid fan of all manner of sports, but had a special love of St. Louis Blues hockey. TJ’s spirit and zest for life was infectious and something he shared with all who came to know him. He loved spending time with his brothers, taking them to Blues games, all-night video game marathons, and sharing his love for them in general.
TJ is survived by his fiancée, Angela Garrett; his mother and father, Tina and Kevin Zumbaum; two younger brothers, Jacob and Noah Zumbaum; his grandmother, Hilda Fowler-Thomas; his aunts, Judy, Betsy, Amy, Barb, and Brenda; his uncles, Terry, Tom, Jason, and John; and many cousins and other relatives.
TJ was preceded in death by his grandfather and namesake, TJ Fowler, who he now gets to meet for the first time; an aunt, Tony Carter; and his cousin Luke, who he missed dearly.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey with Father Steve Pohlman officiating.
A private family burial will take place at a later date.
