Tom Williams, 56, of Bethalto, went to be with the Lord at 11:27 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born on Feb. 21, 1958, in Wood River, the son of Bernard and Ruby Opal (Smith) Williams.
He married Keri Tutt on Jan. 10, 1998. She survives.
Tom was owner/operator of Prairie Street Auto. Tom had a big heart and loved to help the Bethalto Community in various ways. He enjoyed drag racing, his dogs and working on cars, but most of all he loved spending time with Keri and watching Justin play basketball.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Justin, at home; his siblings and their spouses, Ella Louise (Rob) Balford of Green Castle, Penn., Omer (Carol) Williams of Cottage Hills, Homer (Pamela) Williams of Bethalto, Ann Jones of Hartford, Pam Williams of Hartford, John (Brenda) Williams of Alton, Shirley (John) Lopez of Albuquerque, N.M., Shelia (Waldo) Modlin of Bethalto; several nieces and nephews; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Gary Jones.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at the funeral home with Pastor Harold Hughes.
Burial will follow at Rose lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
