Vicky L. File, 53, of Alton, passed away at 5:01 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2016, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born in St. Louis July 19, 1962, the daughter of Mary Jane (Hartman) Marshall and Wayne and Peggy Williams.
On June, 13, 1992, she married Maurice D. File in Plainview.
Vicky was a homemaker and enjoyed time with her family, friends and hosting things at her home, which she loved. She loved gardening and had a great love for animals. She was a member of Godfrey First United Methodist Church and the Illinois Boots and Saddle Club.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Ashley (Casey) Paris of Chapel Hill, Tenn., and Kaitlyn File and her fiancé, Jason McAtee, of Godfrey; one grandson, Teagan Paris; two sisters, Donna (Mark) Drier and Rhonda (Robert) Cook; one brother, Doug (Cheryl) Marshall; mother and father-in-law, Dwight (Judy) File; and numerous nieces nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Harry Marshall.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2016, at Godfrey First United Methodist Church in Godfrey.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Godfrey United Methodist Church with pastor Don Long officiating.
Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.
