Virginia Lois Young, 81, of Granite City, passed away at 9 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2016, at Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville.
She was born Jan. 13, 1935, in Advance, Mo., the daughter to the late Virgil and Anna (Redman) Pixley.
Virginia was the kitchen manager at the Granite City Moose and was a very active member.
Survivors include daughters, Nancy (Anthony) Ochoa of Troy and Debra Mathenia (Mike Seiber) of Granite City, a son, Michael (Karen) Ahrens of Claremore, Okla.; two stepsons, Ronnie (Diana) Young and Craig Young of Granite City; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a stepsister, Janet; a niece, Terri Plitt of Seattle, Wash., and nephew, Mark Struttman of Missouri.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two spouses, Bertram Ahrens and Bobby Gene Young; daughter, Patricia Barnhart; two stepsons, Randy and David Young; and a sister, Patsy Struttman.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory, where services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2016. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery.
