Vivian L. Ellis, 93, of Jerseyville, formerly of Granite City, passed away at 11:52 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2015, at Liberty Village in Jerseyville.
She was born July 22, 1921, in Cobden, the daughter to the late Guy Fred and Carrie Isabel (Clutts) Wolfe.
On Sept. 24, 1938, she and Carlos Ellis were married in Jackson, Mo. He preceded her in death on Jan. 3, 1994.
Mrs. Ellis was a member of the 1st Christian Church of Pontoon Beach and Copper Creek Christian Church in Maryville. She had worked for many years at Dairy Queen and Leroy’s in Pontoon Beach.
Survivors include two sons, David (Antoinette) Ellis of Jerseyville and “Larry” James (Nancy) Ellis of Williamsport, Penn.; a daughter-in-law, Ran Ellis of Suwanee, Ga.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Vivian will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Karen Pilcic and Linda Lomax; a son, Karl Ellis; two brothers, Robert and Hillard Wolfe; and three sisters, Lucille Sanders, Evelyn Ingram and Lillian Anderson.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at the chapel at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights.
