Wanda L. Ukena, 90, of East Alton, passed away at 3:07 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Alton Nursing and Rehab.
Born April 28, 1925, in Omaha, Ill., she was the daughter of the late David Dean and Clara (Mitchell) Keasler.
In 1951, she married Vernon H. Ukena in Alton. He preceded her in death.
Wanda worked at Owens Illinois Glass in the corrugating department; she also worked for Wabash Area Development Senior Services (WADI) and for Central Electric in Alton.
Surviving are six children and their spouses, Jennifer White of East Alton, Theresa (R.J.) Tolliver of Dorsey, Marshall (Diane) Ukena of Alton, Kevin (Terri) Ukena of Geff, Ill., Priscilla (Daniel) Moss of Rio Rancho, N.M., and John (Denise) Ukena of Edwardsville; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen (Bill) Smith of Sparta; and her nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Charles “Pete” and Margaret Keasler; a brother-in-law, Bill McCaleb; and a son-in-law, James White.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until funeral service at 1 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2016, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, with Marshall Ukena officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
