Wanda M. Puhse, 93, of Granite City passed away on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
She was born on Aug. 19, 1922, in Pomona, a daughter to the late Oral and Mary (Robinson) Sexton.
Wanda was a longtime cook at Granite City High School and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Granite City.
She is survived by and will be missed by her daughters, Terry, Darlene, Judy, Linda and Mary; her sons, Ralph and Robert; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brothers, Donald and Jim; and sister, Gerry.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her first husband, David Howard Chapman; her second husband, Glen “Tom” Puhse; and her sister, Evadine Graville.
In celebration of Wanda’s life, friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City with Pastor Rob Roy officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the charity of one’s choice.
