Wanetta Pearl Talley, 90, of Palm Springs, Florida and formerly of Granite City, passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Heartland Healthcare Center in Boynton Beach, Florida.
She was born October 8, 1923 in Glen Carbon, a daughter of the late Joseph and Pearl Virginia (Sprague) Cunningham.
She married Oliver Wendell Talley on August 16, 1942 in St. Charles, Missouri and he preceded her in death in 1988.
Wanetta retired from Reeses Drug Store in Granite City after many years of dedicated service as a Pharmacy Technician. She was a charter member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Granite City and a member of the Rebekah’s. She enjoyed her days of camping and loved working in her yard and with her flowers. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Olivia Wanetta and Thomas Hagerman of Ft. Pierce, Florida and Kathy and John Rudd of Palm Springs, Florida; four grandchildren and their spouses, Heather Hagerman of Festus, Missouri, Julie Hagerman of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Randall and Josephine Rudd of Lake Worth, Florida and Douglas and Dawn Rudd of Raleigh, North Carolina; four great grandchildren, Amanda St. Onge, Victoria Rudd, Baylee Rudd and Hunter Rudd; one sister, JoAnna Tamburello of Collinsville, many nieces and nephews; and other extended family and many friends.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, George Cunningham and Robert Cunningham and two sisters, Sallie Weiler and Catherine Sedlacek.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Friday, August 15, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 3025 National Avenue in Granite City on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Bill Bryan officiating. Burial will be at Glen Carbon City Cemetery in Glen Carbon, Illinois.
