William “Bill” P. Woodard, 80, of Granite City, passed away at 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
He was born on March 18, 1934, in Granite City, the son of the late James R. Woodard and Irene Steinhouser.
Bill married Molly Mueller on July 20, 1954, in Madison.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and John Coverse of Festus, Mo., and Patricia and Kirk Geahlen of Granite City; a son, James Woodard of Granite City; a granddaughter, Ashley Hopson-Lowrance of Granite City; and a brother, David Woodard of Madison.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers and two sisters.
Bill was a veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked on the assembly line at GM in St. Louis for 36 years; retiring in 1988. Bill was also a member of Bethesda Baptist Church.
Visitation was private.
Funeral services were Friday, March 20, 2015, at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Edwardsville.
Burial will take place in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
