William “Bill” M. McDaniel, 77, went home to be his Lord at 8:39 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, with his family by his side.
Bill was born in Cardwell, Mo., on Sept. 5, 1937. He was the son of the late Alan and Leona McDaniel.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth A. (Ziegler) McDaniel.
Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved his family above all. He retired in 1995 from Ford Motor Company after 30 years. He was an avid bowler and upon retirement he taught himself to play golf. He was a member of Eagles Lodge FOE No. 254 and Moose Lodge No. 951.
Surviving are his daughter, Vickie (Scott) Fallon of Overland, Mo.; his sons, Rick McDaniel of Dittmer, Mo., and Jeff (Stephanie) McDaniel of Maryland Heights, Mo.; three stepchildren, Donna (Zina) Bland of Alton, Darrell (Elinda) Bland of Elsah and Victor Urbonas of Alton; 14 grandchildren, Jason, Anthony, Brandi, Bobby, Randy, Dara, Devyn, Miranda, Matt, Jesse, Justin, Kaitlyn, Lance and Eli; six great-grandchildren, Randa, Dylan, Owen, Tatiana, Kairi and Shana; three brothers, Jay (Barb), Ron (Donna) and Curt (Pat); and three sisters, Mary, Betty and Blanche.
In addition to his wife and his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Gloria McDaniel; and his stepson, Robert Bland.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, with Scott Hanks and Nathan Pedigo officiating.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park.
