William C. Wombles, 46, of Taylorville, passed away unexpectedly at 3:55 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016.
Born in Gainesville, Fla., on Feb. 27, 1969, he was the son of Gary Lynn Wombles of East Alton and Gail Pruiett of Crossville, Tenn.
William had been a Physical Therapist for Gateway Rehabilitation in Taylorville.
He enjoyed boating and fishing, was an avid sports enthusiast, and enjoyed cooking and BBQ. He was a part of “Ruf/Nek for Life” and loved spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Michelle (Mark) Vollintine of Tahlequan, Okla.; niece, Samantha Sandidge; nephew, Joshua Vollintine; and fiancée, Gretchen Ewin of East Alton.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Memorials may be made to the 5A’s Animal Shelter in Alton.
