William Harold “Billie” Burney Rigdon, 43, of Hartford, passed away at 1:22 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2016, at St. Anthony’s Health Center in Alton. He was born April 12, 1972, in Alton.
Billie attended The William M. BeDell Achievement and Resource Center in Wood River. He enjoyed his days of fishing, swimming, dancing, boating, listening to the radio and taking car rides. He loved being with his family, always laughing and sharing his smile and never knew a stranger. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Charshel and Jean Rigdon of Hartford; his brother, John Thomas “John Boy” Burney Rigdon of Hartford; two sisters, Gina Lewis and husband, Ben, of Hartford and Diana Rigdon and fiancé, William Spencer, of Bethalto; two nieces, Leah Thompson and husband, Thomas, of Roxana and Amber Stewart and fiancé, Chad Hancock, of Bethalto; many great-nieces, great-nephews, other extended family and many friends.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2016, at Pitchford Funeral Home, 2555 Vaughn Road in Wood River. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials may be made to the William M. BeDell ARC, 400 S. Main St., Wood River, IL 62095 and may be accepted at the funeral home.
