William John Cagle of Granite City passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, having attained the age of 78 years, 3 months and 26 days.
Born on March 10, 1938, in Houston, Texas, he was the son of James Arthur and Georgia Cagle, nee Bledsoe. He was united in married to Juanita Gwin on May 8, 1961, in Bluffton, Ind., and she survives his passing.
Mr. Cagle was an over-the-road truck driver with local deliveries.
Preceding him in death were his parents, 10 brothers and sisters and his brother-in-law, Jack Cole.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita Cagle of Granite City; his children, Billy Joe (Sasha) Cagle, Phyllis (Edward) Caldwell, both of Warner-Robbins, Ga., and James Aaron Cagle of Lebanon, Ill.; sister, Clarice Cole of Lakeland, Fla.; his grandchildren, Tasha Nicole Marquis of Warner-Robbins, Ga., Michelle Lynn (David) Glaspie of Granite City, Benjamin Aaron Cagle, Nicholas James Cagle and Georgia Aline Cagle, all of California; and nieces, nephews and many friends.
Memorials may be made to the family and will be received at the funeral home.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016, at the Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor David Hale officiating. All other services will be private.
