William John Kutosky, 96, of Granite City, passed away at 5:35 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, at Stearns Nursing and Rehabilitation in Granite City.
He was born Sept. 7, 1918, in Douglas, Ariz., a son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Kika) Kutosky.
He married Hattie Flora (Rentz) Kutosky on May 8, 1944, in Tallahassee, Fla., and she passed away on Oct. 15, 2010.
William retired in 1984 from Illinois Power in Granite City after 32 years of service as a meter reader and meter changer. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion, both in Granite City. He enjoyed his days of fishing and times spent with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for the love of his family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph “Joe” Kutosky.
He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Cathy and Greg Walker of Tallahassee, Fla., and Mary Kay Kutosky of Tallahassee, Fla.; one son and daughter-in-law, William John and Holly Kutosky Jr. of Granite City; five grandchildren and spouses, William John and Emily Kutosky III of Platteville, Colo., Hannah and Jeffrey Luehmann of Granite City, Haley Kutosky of Granite City, John and Liz Walker of Tallahassee, Fla., and Jeffrey Walker of Tallahassee, Florida; other extended family and friends.
