William P. Karius III, 60, of Granite City passed away Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015, at Kindred Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born April 27, 1955, in Granite City. William was a longtime heavy equipment operator for P.S.C. Scrap Metal in St. Louis. In his free time, William enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his kind heart and all the special times he shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by and will be missed by his dad, William P. Karius Jr.; his children, Tiffany and (Eric) Bryant of Chester, Trevor and (Katie) Karius of Chester, Crystal Kellems of Granite City; adopted children, Geneva Dale and Richard Perigo Jr.; grandchildren, Andrew Bryant of Chester, Emma Bryant of Chester, Sophia Bryant of Chester, Hannah Wilson of Chester, Audrey Karius of Chester, Christian Karius of Chester, Eric Kellems, Tiffany Kellems and Laura Kellems; two great-grandchildren; nine brothers; six sisters; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
William was preceded in death by his mom, Sue (Monroe) Miller; stepdad, Ralph; brother, Michael Karius; and a nephew, Brad.
In celebration of his life, friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, with a service at 7 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road in Granite City at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family.
