Willie Mae Rives, 84, of Cottage Hills, was called home to Heaven at 2:24 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at OSF Saint Anthony’s Health Center in Alton.
She was born on May 29, 1931, in Alton, the daughter of the late Oliver and Hattie Mae (Braboy) Rives.
Willie Mae was employed at the Alton Mental Health Clinic in the Food Service Department for 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her nephews and niece.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Jim Franklin of Dorsey; two nephews and their spouse, Rick Rives and family of Staunton and William Franklin and family of Troy; one niece, Wendy Franklin of Linden, N.C.; and two cousins, Eddie Funkhauser of Alton and Bill Funkhauser of Godfrey; and family, Ruth Ann Hallemeyer and family of Bethalto; and several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Rives; and a niece, Renee Patterson.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, at Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home with Pastor Dale Skeesick officiating.
Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery in Alton.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and or St. Peters Lutheran Church in Prairietown.
