Wynona Pearl “Pearlie” Runion, 77, of East Alton, passed away at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at her home.
She was born on Dec. 10, 1937, in Alton, a daughter of the late Roy and Alice (Scoggins) Delp.
She married Donald R. Runion on March 29, 1969, in Alton. He passed away Feb. 6, 2011.
Pearlie had worked at Al-Can and in the deli at K-Mart. She loved animals, crocheting and knitting, and gardening and canning from her garden.
Survivors include two loving sisters, Betty Landers of Wood River and Dixie Baldwin of Alton; a brother, Marvin Delp of East Alton; three sons, Reggie N. Runion of Wood River, Steven E. Runion of Georgia, and Donald R. Runion Jr. of Roxana; two special nieces, Dena Bush of Wood River and Debra Kelly of Roxana; several other nieces and nephews; and her beloved “baby,” her Eskimo snow dog, Snowball.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Roy and Damon Delp.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 10, at Paynic Home for Funerals, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 11. Pastor Rocky Runion will officiate.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
Memorials may be given to the 5A’s animal shelter.
