Zachary Alyn “Zack” Kibort, 20, of Granite City, passed away Monday, Aug. 3, 2015.
He was born Oct. 13, 1994, in St. Louis, the precious son of Keith Alyn and Debra Kay (Jones) Kibort. Zack was a 2013 graduate of Granite City High School, where he had been very active with the Jazz Band, Warriors Marching Band, Warrior Voices and was in the senior play. He was a talented musician and loved playing the trumpet and mellophone. Zack was attending St. Louis University, where he was majoring in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. He was working at Bellemore Village Animal Hospital in Granite City and Liberty Village Nursing Home in Maryville. He enjoyed playing video games and spending time with his entire family and many friends. Zach wrote “band, WoW and my friends are my life and I love creativity, poems and quotes.” His smile and personality will forever be with those whom knew him. His devotion and love to others will always be remembered.
In addition to his beloved parents, he is survived by his sister, Taylor May Kibort; grandparents, Albert and Shirley Kibort; aunts and uncles, Kathy and Russell Hamilton, Jim and Karen Greenwald, Kenne Kibort, Brenda Parks, Richard and Patty Jones, Timmy and Maria Jones, Lisa Jones and Tina Jones and Nadeia Shemwell; many cousins; other extended family and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ted and Bonnie Jones.
In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be 4 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, with the Rev. Greg Dickerman officiating.
