The 2014 all-conference girls' golf teams were released for the Southwestern Conference on Monday with the Alton Redbirds seeing four linksters recognized.
Alton's trio of talented senior leaders Tori Hays, Natalie Long and Courtney Hachmann were all named to the first team, while fellow senior Ashley Orr took home second team honors.
No other SWC team had more than one player on the first team, with Belleville West senior Mikaela Hickey, O'Fallon senior Sophie Laing and Edwardsville senior Sam Doak rounding out the first team.
Edwardsville had a total of five all-conference players, with two each on the second and third teams, too. O'Fallon matches the Redbirds with four, landing two on the second team and one on the third to accompany Laing.
It was a storybook season for the Redbirds, which shared the SWC title after winning the conference tournament. They also took home the first sectional championship in school history at the Class AA Champaign Centennial Sectional. AHS then finished 10th at the state tournament.
