Cassie Hall | Girls’ Soccer
Just a freshman for the Civic Memorial Eagles, Hall is heating up the soccer field this spring.
In four games last week, Hall netted nine goals for the Eagles. She scored four times in an 8-2 win over Jersey on April 20, three goals in an 8-0 shutout of East Alton-Wood River on April 21 and two goals in the 4-0 blanking of Staunton on April 23. CM finished out the week with a 9-0 loss to Mississippi Valley Conference-leading Triad.
Entering this week, Hall was the leading scorer for the Eagles with 44 points off a whopping 20 goals and four assists. They have only played 14 games, going 8-6 overall.
Devin Daniels | Baseball
Daniels, a senior outfielder for the Civic Memorial Eagles, had a big week at the plate.
In a week where the Eagles went 3-2 over five days, Daniels hit .467 (7 for 15) with a double, three triples, six runs scored, three walks, five RBIs and a sacrifice.
Two of Daniels’ triples came on the big stage on April 25 at Busch Stadium against the Roxana Shells. They were both standup triples in his 3-for-3 day at Busch, as the Eagles prevailed 6-2. The first soared into deep right center field and the other was blistered down the third baseline.
For the week CM lost 16-12 to Waterloo, beat Metro East Lutheran 10-1, beat Triad 3-0, lost to Granite City 11-5 and bested the Shells at Busch.
