JERSEYVILLE — The Barry E. Brueggeman Memorial Scholarship golf outing will be held on Sept. 6 at Wolves Crossing Golf Course.
Check in is 10 a.m. and the tournament tees off at 11 a.m.
Teams of four will be entered into the tournament. Cost is $80 per golfer if paid in full by Sept. 1. It goes up to $90 per golfer the day of the event.
Registration fees include golf, lunch, dinner and drinks.
Interested participants may also make scholarship donations or become a $100 hole sponsor.
The money raised at the golf outing assists the Barry E. Brueggeman Memorial Scholarship.
Barry Brueggeman is a Southwestern alumnus who died in a fatal truck accident in the spring of 2009. Brueggeman was a standout football player for the Piasa Birds who continued his career at Quincy University and later as a semi-pro player for the now defunct River City Rage in St. Charles, Mo.
Brueggeman’s brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Amanda Brueggeman, created the Barry E. Brueggeman Memorial Scholarship in his memory to help Southwestern seniors continue their education at a trade school, community college or university. Last year’s recipients were John P. Mueller and Alyson Siglock.
