They improved to 3-0 in Senior Legion baseball by blasting host Jersey, 15-0, in a seven-inning game Tuesday night at Ken Schell Field. Metro East previously had posted victories over Festus, Mo. and Eureka, Mo.
Jacob St. Peters pitched three scoreless innings and Jordan Hovey worked the final four to get the victory. The Bears led 10-0 after three innings and 14-0 after four frames. The nine-inning game was called after seven innings because of the 10-run rule.
Nick Paulda and Hovey both collected three hits to spur the attack. Maverick McSparin's three-run double highlighted the big second inning. Overall, Metro East strung together 13 hits and took advantage of 10 walks. Jerseyville fell to 3-3.
