Civic Memorial senior golfer Alec Hilliard recently signed a letter of intent to continue his career on the links at Missouri Baptist University.
Hilliard will compete for the NAIA program after compiling at solid career at CM. He capped his tenure with a trip to the Class 2A state tournament at Weibring Golf Course in Normal this season.
He finished in a tie for 37th place at state, firing a two-day score of 163. Hilliard was tied for 28th after Day 1, carding a 79. On Day 2 he shot an 84.
Hilliard was the lone representative for the Eagles at state. He will look to help a Spartan program in college that finished second in the American Midwest Conference Tournament in May of 2015.
During the fall season, Missouri Baptist highlighted the short campaign with the title of the Hannibal LaGrange Fall Invitational.
Currently Hilliard serves as the goalie for the Bethalto Eagles ice hockey team.
